How It Works
Decentralized by Design
Traditional messaging apps rely on centralized infrastructure that can be monitored, censored, restricted, or go down during outages. ByteChat lets devices talk to each other directly, without routing messages through central servers or third-party providers.
Peer-to-Peer Mesh Networking
ByteChat builds ad-hoc networks from devices nearby. Each device is a client and a relay, discovering peers and forwarding messages across hops. That extends range beyond a single direct link and grows as more people join.
End-to-End Encryption
Messages are encrypted end-to-end so only the recipient can read them. Relay devices forward encrypted data but cannot decrypt or read what they carry.
